A message from Mrs. Luck & Mr. Elliott:
"The most important parts of OMS Physical Education is to make sure all students are involved
in the activity at a "health enhancing level", to improve their personal fitness level
and to have the knowledge to live healthy lifestyle for the rest of their lives."
There are two Physical Education teachers at the Oskaloosa Middle School, Betsy Luck & Bart Elliott.
Through the 3 trimesters per year, students may be changed from one teacher to another
just as it happens in other classes.
All daily assignments will be communicated to the students in class as well as through Google Classroom.
All OMS students have access to Google Classrom on their Chromebooks.
It is the students responsibility to check Google Classroom for missed assignments.

Physical Education dress expectations
Apparel and Shoes for class -
For Physical Education Class (P.E.), students are expected to wear clothes that meet the school’s dress code while promoting safe and active participation. Expected and appropriate dress for class will be reviewed with all students at the beginning of the school year and review those expectations throughout the school year.
Our focus is to ensure students can participate in PE safely. Tennis shoes play an important role to ensure student safety.
We ask that Flip flops, Crocks, Dudes, boots or any other shoe that does not tie correctly not be worn in class.
Students can either wear tennis shoes on their PE days, or bring tennis shoes to change into.
If students forget their shoes the PE department has shoes that they can borrow for the class period.
Middle School PE classes use both inside and outside classroom settings. The gymnasiums at the middle school are not air conditioned. Please wear clothing on days you have class that will keep you as comfortable as possible.
Students do have the option to change into different clothes for class if they so wish.
We also encourage the use of deodorant after class every day.
PE Lockers/Locks
In Physical Education, students have the option to get a padlock for PE lockers. In the case that a padlock is lost or damaged, students will be expected to pay a fee to replace the padlock.

Making up a missed class:
(For Days Absent and No-dresses) Make ups will follow OMS make-up procedure. Students will come out of Media Center to make up missed class or a no dress. Student's must have a pass signed by their PE teacher before they may make up a class or no dress. Student's must sign out of Media Center before leaving. Classes need to be made up before the end of each unit. |
Game Points:
In some units, there are possibilities of game points and skill points, these are added to the student's trimester grade. Game points may be earned while playing different team games by scoring, assisting a score, winning the game, having everyone on the team score and showing hustle. |
